Rupert Johnson, Jr.

Rupert Harris Johnson, Jr. (born 1941) is the Vice-Chairman of the Board of Franklin Resources.[1][2]

Biography

Rupert Johnson graduated from Washington and Lee University, then served as a Marine.[1][3] In 1965, he joined Franklin Resources.[2] He now serves as its Vice-Chairman.[1] His brother Charles, is the Chairman of Franklin Resources.[1] Gregory Johnson, his brother's son, is the Chief Executive Officer.[1]

He sits on the Board of Trustees of Santa Clara University.[2][3][4] He has made donations to the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco and the Delaware Art Museum.[3] He sits on the President's council of the United Religions Initiative.[3]

As of September 2011, he is worth US$4.5 billion.[1] He is the 69th richest person in the United States.[5] He is married, and lives in Burlingame, California.[1]
